Featuring Mano’s Rocket Fuel & Piri Piri Hot Sauce

Polvo à Lagareiro is a beloved Portuguese classic traditionally served during holidays and special gatherings. Tender octopus is roasted with olive oil, garlic, and potatoes — then elevated with Mano’s bold heat for a modern twist.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole octopus (2–3 lbs), cleaned

  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 6 cloves garlic, smashed

  • 1½ lbs baby potatoes

  • 1–2 tbsp Mano’s Rocket Fuel Hot Sauce

  • Optional: drizzle of Mano’s Piri Piri Hot Sauce

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Tenderize the Octopus
Place octopus in a pot with water (no salt).
Simmer gently for 45–60 minutes until tender. Remove and cut into large pieces.

  2. Roast the Potatoes
Boil potatoes until just tender. Smash lightly and place on a baking sheet.

  3. Assemble the Dish
Add octopus pieces to the pan with potatoes.
Drizzle generously with olive oil, add garlic, salt, and Rocket Fuel Hot Sauce.

  4. Roast
Roast at 425°F (220°C) for 25–30 minutes until edges are crispy.

  5. Finish with Heat
Drizzle lightly with Piri Piri for extra fire if desired.
    Garnish with fresh parsley.
